This class is for those new puppy owners, ready to start their training journey with a new canine family member! General direction on puppy training and beginning basic skills (sit, down, mat work, impulse control, recalls, leash work & more!) training foundations and principles, troubleshooting puppy situations all while working to develop an owner/dog bond to last a lifetime! Puppies in this class could be 10 weeks - 6 months of age.
This class is geared towards dogs 6-10 months of age, who have had some foundation training but are ready for next level work. Continued work on focus/attention/leash walking/impulse control, body handling and troubleshooting needs. (Intermediate class is suited for puppies who have completed puppy foundations. Advanced is suited for puppies who have completed the Intermediate level)
This class is ideal for dogs who are 8+ months of age, who have a little bit of training, but perhaps need a clean up of training skills, or help getting started, or trouble shooting new behaviors that have shown up as the puppies start to enter young adulthood!
Teams participating in this class, will need to have competed our Training Foundations Class OR have instructor permission to join. Teams should have a good handler/dog bond and working relationship. Dogs in this class will be challenged with more duration of skills, more types/levels of distractions, as well, working with food OFF the human’s body and also working on more reliable verbal cues and skills.
Teams participating In this class, will continue to advance their skills and be able to troubleshoot challenges they may encounter. Teams will see a variety of new challenges and distractions, more "real world" application of skills and advanced proofing of behaviors under various scenarios.
This class will guide experienced teams through the exercises of the AKC CGC test and exercises of the Alliance of Therapy Dog certification. Teams should be well established in training for this class, and have an understanding of the skills required for the CGC and Therapy Dog tests. Discussion and practical execution of the skills will be the main focus of this class. Teams will have the option for testing for CGC and/or Therapy Dog at the end of the session.
Did you know that keeping your dog fit and healthy can help extend your dogs life AND improve their quality of life? In this class, teams will start learning baseline fitness foundation skills, how to work a K9 fitness program and other ways to keep your pup fit and healthy!! There will be a few pieces of equipment needed for teams to acquire - details will be provided the first week of class.
Once teams learn the fitness foundations, those skills are taken to the next level of challenge! Teams will continue their knowledge of K9 Fitness and will learn new equipment set-ups and variations of skills, to continue to provide challenges to their canine partners
Teams in this class will have solid manners foundations and be ready to learn how to apply that to Rally Obedience. Rally is a fun sport in which teams navigate a "course" of skill challenges. Teams will learn how to read signs, how to navigate a course and how to execute for competition standards. Skills will center around AKC and WCRL Rally.
Teams participating in this class have mastered the Novice level signs and skills and are progressing their Rally training. Intermediate and Advanced signs will be the focus of learning in this level.
Teaching your dog tricks is a fantastic way to do some continued training and engaging with your pup! In this class teams will learn various training methods used to teach a variety of tricks. Tricks learned will be from the Novice and Intermediate/Advanced trick lists from either/or AKC or Do More With Your Dog. Trick titles may be tested for and earned over the course of the training session.
